Episode 23: The expedition

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - Season 2 - Episode 23

Ambrosius and the children arrive at the nave and find Mendoza asleep, the pyramid of Mu in his hand. Ambrosius is furious and ties him up to make him talk. Then he goes up on deck with Tao and Zia to look for Sancho and Pedro, who are running away. Esteban stays alone with Mendoza who asks him to trust him. When Ambrosius comes back down, Esteban tells him that he has escaped. To save face, Ambrosius contains his anger, preferring to take care of the yellow dragon.
They therefore return to the village to ask for help to reach the mountain designated by the dragon's fire and the villager offers to take Long Chow with them. Because of the wind, the nave cannot take them to the summit and they have to land. They walk in the snow when suddenly Zia falls into a hole and an avalanche is triggered, forcing them to follow her. They arrive in an ice cave in which there is a frozen Olmec, holding in his hand a map indicating the location of a 3rd City of Gold in Cipango!
But for now, they are stuck when suddenly someone throws them a rope: it is Tian Li, who has come to warn the children about a traitor mentioned in the prophecy of the book of seven languages. They continue their journey and arrive at a crevasse when a storm rises. Everyone crosses it, but Tian Li has to go back to get Long Chow, frightened, and they are trapped. Ambrosius wants to help them and launches a flare. Unfortunately, once the storm has passed, there is no trace of Tian Li. They can only continue their way and arrive at a huge frozen lake next to the mountain indicated by the dragon.
Esteban ventures onto the ice, but it cracks, causing the yellow dragon to fall into the water, which soon reappears in the form of a gigantic golden dragon and seems to invite them to climb on its back...
