Episode 18: The son of the Sun

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - Season 2 - Episode 18

The children are trapped inside the Buddha's Belly. Esteban, stung by a scorpion, is getting increasingly ill, and Li Shuang has disappeared. Zia remembers the advice of her father, Papa Camayo, and the Shaolin Grandmaster, and goes back to search for plants in the sleeping garden to heal him. She comes back and makes a poultice when Li Shuang finally reappears: he is slightly injured after fighting with the captain. They all set out to find a way out.
Outside, Ambrosius and the three sailors are on their way aboard the ship. Mendoza asks Sancho and Pedro to distract Ambrosius on the upper deck while he wants to check something about the pyramid of Mu. But he doesn't have time because Ambrosius comes back down: his compass has just detected a huge mass of orichalcum nearby, and they land to go and see. The compass indicates a narrow crevasse, and Ambrosius decides to fetch some powder from his ship to widen it.
Inside the cavern, Li Shuang and Tao are looking for an exit, while Zia's remedy has taken effect: Esteban wakes up. Suddenly, an explosion resounds in the distance: it is the blast caused by Ambrosius. They will finally be able to get out of the Buddha's Belly. Soon, all our friends are reunited outside.
