Episode 11: In search of the yellow dragon
In his palace, Prince Zhu, the Emperor's son, is bored: he lives in the Forbidden City, a gilded cage from which he cannot escape.
Meanwhile, Mendoza and Ambrosius continue their search for the temple that hides the yellow dragon, while Mei Li introduces the children to the city of Beijing, which is bustling with preparations for the Emperor's festival. The little Chinese girl tells them that the temple they are looking for is the Temple of Rebirth and leads them there. Recognizing the children's medallions, Yu Chunhe - the master of the place - lets them in. He subjects Esteban and Zia to a test that confirms they are indeed the chosen ones. After many failures, Mendoza and Ambrosius finally arrive at the temple.
Yu Chunhe then reveals the existence of a secret passage under the fountain, leading to the yellow dragon. Only the chosen ones, bearing the medallions, are allowed to descend, but a vexed Tao joins them before the passage closes.
As they walk, a trap is triggered and water quickly fills the underground chamber, threatening to drown them. Before it is too late, Zia discovers a location in the rock that corresponds to their medallions and inserts them. The water recedes, revealing a hidden door. Behind it, in another room, they find a gigantic stone dragon with a nox in its mouth. Opening it, the three children finally discover the sacred dragon.
Coming back, they find that Mendoza, Yu Chunhe, and the others have been captured by Hang and his accomplices, who stole the dragon...
