Episode 15: The stomach of Buddha
The Great Condor finally flies over the Great Wall and our heroes eventually spot a large, round rock: the Buddha's belly. They land nearby, but the wall is guarded by Chinese soldiers. Mendoza suggests waiting for nightfall, but the three children still try to enter through a breach in the wall.
Suddenly, a terrible sandstorm rises. The children take advantage of it to enter the Chinese camp through the opening, while Mendoza, Sancho and Pedro have to stay outside. This is also the moment the Mongols choose to come and retrieve their horses, stolen by the Chinese. Among them is young Gurban. Zia intervenes to save his life and Gurban, thinking he is doing the right thing, leaves with her on his horse. As for Esteban and Tao, they are captured by the Chinese.
Once the storm has passed, the three sailors rejoin Ambrosius in his ship, which has just crash-landed nearby due to the storm.
Gurban and Zia arrive at the Mongol camp, but she is furious at having been kidnapped. Zia takes advantage of a moment of inattention to escape, but Gurban finds her. They talk and he finally agrees to help her find Esteban and Tao the next day.
In the early morning, after spending the night in a cage in the Chinese camp, Esteban and Tao are to be taken to a work camp. But on the way, they meet a horseman who is none other than Li Shuang.
