Episode 16: The labyrinth

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - Season 2 - Episode 16

As promised, Gurban brings Zia back to the Great Wall. On the way, he tells her that the leader of the Chinese camp is Li Shuang, whom the children are looking for. Gurban distracts the soldiers, which allows Zia to discreetly enter the camp, but she is unmasked by Pichu's screams. Fortunately, Li Shuang intervenes and notices Zia's medallion. She asks him to free her friends and give them back the yellow dragon and tells him her story when Esteban and Tao finally arrive, free.
Li Shuang realizes that the prophecy is being fulfilled and takes the children to the Buddha's Belly: a large rock on the side of the wall that hides a secret passage. They arrive in a cavern, already visited by Li Shuang and Esteban's father, where there is a mysterious orichalcum edifice, on which inscriptions and two locks are engraved.
Esteban and Zia insert their medallions and descend to the bottom of a well. A door then opens, revealing an orichalcum labyrinth. They venture into it, but soon no longer know where to go. The labyrinth begins to close: they are frightened and run away, and return to the entrance. Zia is convinced: this is a test they must pass.
Meanwhile, the captain of the guard also enters the cavern, while outside, Ambrosius' ship is surrounded by the Mongols.
In the labyrinth, Zia is sure of herself and their destiny and decides to let herself be locked in with Esteban.
