Episode 8: The treason

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - Season 2 - Episode 8

While pursuing their aggressor, Esteban and Tao bump into two young monks who were eating in the temple's kitchen: Little Tiger and Little Dragon, trained by the monk Bao Xingji. Esteban reveals that they suspect him of being a traitor and a member of the Red Scarves, the band of robbers.
In the morning, we meet up with Mendoza, healed by the Great Master. Zia listens to his advice and remembers her childhood, when her father Papa Camayo was teaching her how to cure with plants. She will now be able to heal Mendoza when they leave the temple.
For his part, Tian Li shows Tao the printing room where are kept many manuscripts, that tell of a very old civilization and are written in the same language as Ambroise's book. Tao decides to go back to the Great Condor in order to pick up the book of the 7 languages with Esteban and Kokapetl, but they are captured by the Red Scarves and tied up in their lair.
Meanwhile, Mendoza narrates his adventures with the children to Tian Li. Sancho and Pedro are still pursued by Mu-Chun, who wants them to take a bath, and hide in a basement. There, they bump into Bao Xingji, busy in opening a secret passage to facilitate the Red Scarves' attack, and are paralyzed by a Kung-fu attack.
In the robbers' lair, the situation is dramatic: Kokapetl and the 7 languages book are about to get burned.
