Episode 10: The black pearl
While the Great Condor is still en route, Ambrosius has already arrived in Beijing with his ship. In his palace, the Emperor of China receives Zares, who offers him gifts sent by Charles V. Zares is particularly interested in the Emperor's collection of five-clawed dragons, while awaiting the arrival of the children. Dan Shi, the Emperor's assistant, orders Hang to follow him, but Zares quickly loses him with a smoke bomb.
The Great Condor finally arrives in Beijing and lands on a nearby hill. Our friends first eat while they wait for Ambrosius to arrive. He finally finds them thanks to his orichalcum compass. They recount their respective adventures. Ambrosius explains that the six-clawed golden dragon they are seeking is a Fuzanglong, extremely rare and guardian of hidden treasures. For their part, the children tell him about Tian Li's translation of the book of seven languages.
Meanwhile, Mendoza thinks he sees Zares in the distance, while Sancho and Pedro cannot help but make a blunder: they dirty the silk handkerchief representing the yellow dragon. While trying to clean it, they reveal the symbol of Yin and Yang hidden under the black pearl! This could be the symbol of the temple where the yellow dragon is located.
Mendoza and Ambrosius decide to go into the streets of Beijing, in order to discreetly find this temple.
Meanwhile, Sancho, Pedro, and the children rest but are suddenly frightened by a dragon, which is actually a kite with which the little Chinese girl Mei Li is playing. Despite Mendoza's prohibition, the joyful group decides to go to town, watched from afar by Zares.
