Episode 20: The fresco of the evil eyes

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - Season 2 - Episode 20

The storm has calmed down and Pichu finds the children lost in the desert and shows them the way to the oasis.
Meanwhile, while Sancho and Pedro are busy eating, Mendoza is searching for the children in the oasis. A merchant claims to know where they are and asks him to follow him. But it's a trap and Mendoza has to fight against three men. One of them flees on a camel and Mendoza pursues him, soon imitated by the two sailors.
The children finally arrive at the oasis. Tao learns from a merchant that the fresco depicting eyes is located in a ruined temple, further west in the desert. They obviously decide to go there. When they arrive in sight of the temple, they find Mendoza, Sancho and Pedro, who abandon their pursuit and go to explore the ruins.
As soon as they enter, a curious man, the guardian of the place, watches them and triggers a trap, which they narrowly avoid. Zares then appears out of nowhere, determined to finish off the three sailors himself. Mendoza has to engage in a terrible fight, but despite the unexpected help of Sancho and Pedro, all three are defeated by Zares's strength, who throws them into a precipice! Zares immediately disappears, leaving the children distraught and convinced that their friends are dead. Tao inadvertently leans against a wall that collapses, revealing the fresco of the evil eyes.
They enter, but the crazy old man, guardian of the fresco, activates a trap and the children fall to the bottom of a trapdoor.
